The Ambassador Club’s Commitment to Community Award is presented quarterly to a Chamber member who demonstrates commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and/or businesses in the greater Belleville area. The Ambassador Club is proud to present this quarter’s award to Blanquart Jewelers. The George Blanquart Jewelers was opened by George Blanquart in 1936. After his death, his wife Lauretta ran the store and eventually their sons, Robert and Charles Blanquart joined the business. George Blanquart’s dedication to his customers and quality merchandise is still honored today by his son, Chuck Blanquart. Since 1968, George Blanquart Jewelers has been located at 111 E. Help Fill the Bus to Drive Away Hunger

Belleville Schools’ 9th Annual “Drive Away Hunger” food drive will kick off on Wednesday, March 9th and will continue thru Tuesday, April 5th, 2016. Donated items will benefit the following food pantries in Belleville: Interfaith-St. Paul’s, St. Vincent de Paul Cathedral, Union United Methodist, and St. George/St. Marks. The items collected will be delivered on Thursday, April 7th. The demand on our food pantries is overwhelming and they need our help. As we come together as a community to help drive away hunger, keep in mind the impact a community has on one another. Every item makes a difference. Last year, “Drive Away Hunger” raised thirteen full busloads of food for our local pantries thanks to help from local businesses. The Belleville Schools need your support to make this year’s drive an even bigger success….

Total Resource Campaign (TRC) to Kick-off in February

The Chamber will kick off its second annual Total Resource Campaign (TRC) on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. The Campaign, “Work like a Captain, Play like a Pirate,” is a six week revenue generating effort made up of Chamber member volunteers led by the Campaign Chair, Carol Bartle. The Chamber’s goal is to raise $175,000 in sponsorship dollars and new memberships by Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Chamber members will volunteer to take part in this team effort to market sponsorships to Chamber events and publications, while also seeking new members for the Chamber. Volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in weekly lunches, take home cash prizes, trips and more – while being led by their team captain. Chamber Recaps 2015 at Annual Dinner & Silent Auction

Over 420 people were in attendance at this year’s Annual Dinner & Silent Auction on January 28, 2016 at Fischer’s Restaurant. The event celebrated Chamber Members who went above and beyond in 2015 and set a promising tone for all the great things to come in 2016. The Chamber awarded two Business Excellence Awards at the event, one of which went to Belleville Public School District #118 for their commitment to providing students with a well-balanced education that includes the development and understanding of their role as responsible members of the community. Holland Construction Services was also awarded a Business Excellence Award for their good corporate citizenship and contributions to the community. The Chamber also recognized three individuals.
