The Ambassador Club of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce is pleased to honor Hoernis Auto Body with the Commitment to Community Award. In 1964, Belleville, Illinois native Jim Hoernis founded Hoernis Auto Body. After all these years, Hoernis’ philosophy of high quality repairs, fair treatment to employees and vendors, and ex-ceptional customer service is still in place today. Our business has grown into one of the largest and most respected collision repair centers in Southern Illinois. Jim Hoernis first opened Hoernis Auto Body in 1964 at the for-mer Richland Mills Company carriage and horse stable on Third Street in Belleville. Jim worked hard and grew the business by focusing on the latest technology available and personal custom-er service. Home-Brite Ace Hardware honored with Commitment to Community Award The Ambassador Club’s Commitment to Community Award is presented quarterly to a Chamber member who demonstrates commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and/or businesses in the greater Belleville area. The Ambassador Club is proud to present this quarter’s award to Home-Brite Ace Hardware. In 1941, Arthur and Lillian Reinbold, opened their hardware store, Home Brite Company, on North Illinois Street. After a few years of operating in the business that now houses the Belleville Barber College, the Reinbolds decided to move their company across the street to 400 North Illinois Street, where it continues to operate today. The Chamber’s Annual Belleville Chili Cook-off will be here before you know it. Held on the first Friday & Saturday of October, this event has become a local favorite with more than 60 vendors, live bands, cold beer, delicious food, fun children’s area and much more! This year, the beautiful downtown Belleville will come alive as individuals gather on Friday & Saturday, October 2 & 3 for the 32nd Annual Belleville Chili Cook-off.   The weekend food festival includes all different types of chili and non-chili items for those non-chili eaters.
