The Ambassador Club of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to honor Sharon Goff with the December 2017 Commitment to Community Award. Sharon Goff is a dedicated volunteer who shows all of us that perseverance really can make a difference in a community. She volunteers and supports organizations that she is truly passionate about and does not expect any recognition for her endless hours of service. Sharon has been an Ambassador for the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce since 1990 and has been the driving force every December for the collection of school supplies and secret Santa items that are donated to Belleville School District #118. Most of you have already started to plan your 2018 calendar and we want to make sure you reserve our upcoming Annual Dinner on Thursday, February 1st beginning at 5:30 p.m. at St. Clair County Event Center as a must not miss event. Your formal invitations will be mailed and e-mailed the last week of December, but it’s not too early to mark your calendars. As has become a popular tradition, we will again host a silent auction with the dinner. Your generous donations are the reason it has been such a huge success. Healthcare & CSA Committee Host 2017 Glove Drive

The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce Healthcare & CSA Committee is hosting a glove drive from November 1st to December 1st, 2017. Drop-off locations include: East Belleville YMCA, Family Hospice, Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce, Westfield Manor, and Union United Methodist Church. The items collected will benefit the following organizations: Holy Angels, Union United Methodist Church, and The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois. Please consider donating gloves or any other winter clothing items to support those in need this winter.

Downtown Gingerbread Committee Seeks Participants

The Downtown Belleville Gingerbread Committee is accepting participants for the Second Annual Corporate/Small Business Gingerbread Competition. Here’s how it works: 16 Participants will be accepted.  $50 entry fee. Price includes a preassembled Gingerbread House on a 2’x 2’ base. You will be responsible for your own candy and decorating supplies. Sign up for one free team decorating class at Toots’ Cake and Candy Supply in Downtown Belleville. Classes will be held in October & November, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm. Turn in your creation before November 20th  to be eligible for the $500.00 prize for your favorite charity. Entries will win by popular vote, so the more people in your network, the better. Entries will be revealed 11/25. Winners will be announced 12/15. The houses will stay in the downtown until the end of the year….

St. Paul’s Senior Community Receives Commitment to Community Award

The Chamber’s Commitment to Community Award is presented quarterly to a member who demonstrates a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and/or businesses in the greater Belleville area. The Ambassadors were honored to present this quarter’s award St. Paul’s Senior Community on Thursday, September 7th, 2017. St. Paul’s Senior Community began its service to the community in 1926 and continues today as a not-for-profit, faith-based Life Plan Retirement Community for active seniors, offering a full spectrum of health services. The community is sponsored by The United Church of Christ and governed by a Board of Directors comprised of individuals from the congregation of St. Paul’s Church, Christ Church, Trinity Church, and the local community.
