Chamber Recaps 2015 at Annual Dinner & Silent Auction

Over 420 people were in attendance at this year’s Annual Dinner & Silent Auction on January 28, 2016 at Fischer’s Restaurant. The event celebrated Chamber Members who went above and beyond in 2015 and set a promising tone for all the great things to come in 2016. The Chamber awarded two Business Excellence Awards at the event, one of which went to Belleville Public School District #118 for their commitment to providing students with a well-balanced education that includes the development and understanding of their role as responsible members of the community. Holland Construction Services was also awarded a Business Excellence Award for their good corporate citizenship and contributions to the community. The Chamber also recognized three individuals. The Chamber Welcomed Three New Members in December 2015

In 1964, Belleville, Illinois native Jim Hoernis founded Hoernis Auto Body. After all these years, Hoernis’ philosophy of high quality repairs, fair treatment to employees and vendors, and ex-ceptional customer service is still in place today. Our business has grown into one of the largest and most respected collision repair centers in Southern Illinois. Home-Brite Ace Hardware honored with Commitment to Community Award The Ambassador Club’s Commitment to Community Award is presented quarterly to a Chamber member who demonstrates commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and/or businesses in the greater Belleville area. The Ambassador Club is proud to present this quarter’s award to Home-Brite Ace Hardware. In 1941, Arthur and Lillian Reinbold, opened their hardware store, Home Brite Company, on North Illinois Street. After a few years of operating in the business that now houses the Belleville Barber College, the Reinbolds decided to move their company across the street to 400 North Illinois Street, where it continues to operate today. Young Lyle Rowden, the Reinbold’s grandson, started to work at the store in 1975. By this time, the store had established a reputation as a mainstay…
