Chamber Seeks Board of Directors for 2021-2023 Term

This year, multiple positions will be expiring at the end of December and the Chamber is looking to fill them. The next board term will run from 1/2021 – 12/2023. Here you will find Board responsibilities, expectations, and an application for a seat on the Board of Directors. If you are interested in submitting your name for nomination, please fill out the application form and email it to hr@bellevillechamber.org. All submissions will be kept confidential. Submissions must be received by Friday, November 6, 2020. Once all submissions are received the nominating committee will review these applications and make a recommendation to the Executive Board. The general membership will vote on the Slate of Officers at our Annual Meeting on December 15, 2020. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Chamber at 618-233-2015.

The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce During the Pandemic

Ever since the pandemic grew in urgency in March, the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce team has been on alert of our members. The Chamber team was quick to build a webpage within 24 hours from the time everything began with resources as they came in, sometimes multiple times daily, and sent detailed e-mails to our members in ways that they could more easily understand what their options were. We have been in constant contact with our State Representatives and local officials to help keep our Chamber members and the community up-to-date on what was happening and the resources available to them. STATE OF ILLINOIS UDPATES SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR RESTAURANTS AND BAR ESTABLISHMENTS TO PROTECT PATRONS AND WORKERS FROM COVID-19

To further prevent spread, face coverings use will be required during interactions with wait staff and food service workers CHICAGO—The State of Illinois today announced revised guidelines for restaurants and bar establishments statewide to operate safely and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Based on a recent increase in cases, these latest guidelines will require patrons to wear a mask during any interaction with wait staff, food service workers, and other employees at bars and restaurants. Face coverings must be worn over the nose and mouth when patrons are approached and served by staff, including but not limited to when employees take patrons’ orders, deliver food and beverages, and service tables. The reality is that posting about event registrations or making a sales pitch is unlikely to drive meaningful activity. Your audience is human and likely using these platforms on a personal level, so it’s not necessary to engage with them on a solely professional level.
