On Tuesday, December 21, the Chamber met via Zoom to conduct its Annual Board Meeting. This meeting takes the place of the Chamber’s regular monthly Board of Directors meeting and is open for all Chamber members to attend. The Annual Meeting provided a forum for a wrap-up of the year by Kevin Vick, outgoing Board Chairman and Wendy Pfeil, Chamber President & CEO. Incoming Board Chairman Amy Richter was introduced. Attendees also got to hear from multiple leaders in the community for yearly highlights including Col. Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, is pleased to announce that Wendy J Pfeil, IOM, President/CEO, of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce, has graduated from the program and has received the recognition of IOM. Awarded to all graduates of the Institute program, the IOM Graduate Recognition signifies the individual’s completion of 96 hours of course instruction in nonprofit management. In addition, participants can earn credit hours toward the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) or Certified Association Executive (CAE) certifications. After having to cancel the 70th Annual Enlisted Dinner the day of the event in March of 2020 as the pandemic started, the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce’s Belle-Scott Committee was finally able to host their 70th Enlisted Dinner on Thursday, November 18 at The Shrine Banquet Center to honor the enlisted men and women of Scott Air Force Base and thank them for their bravery, commitment, and sacrifice to our nation. After modifying last year’s event, thousands of locals are gearing up for the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce’s 37th annual Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by Bud Light and Serra Honda O’Fallon, in Downtown Belleville on October 8 & 9 from 11:00am to 10:30pm both days. What began with just a few vendors on one block of East Main Street in downtown Belleville is now one of Belleville’s largest events celebrating the culinary creations from over 40 vendors, representing individuals, local organizations and area businesses.
