Leadership Belleville Education Day Recap and Class Spotlight Members

The 2020 Leadership Belleville Class took part in their first class in October themed around Education. The day began at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville with breakfast and a panel discussion on the current issues affecting education. Participants included Robert Tebbe, Executive Director of Enrollment Development and Institutional Planning at Southwestern Illinois College; Brian Mentzer, Assistant Superintendent at Belleville High School Dist. #201 East; Ryan Boike, Superintendent at Belleville Grade School District #118; Greg Lieb, Athletic Director at Althoff Catholic High School; Mark Eichenlaub, Assistant Superintendent at St. Clair County Regional Office of Education; and Stacey Louderman, Principal at St. Clair County Safe School. Following the panel discussion, the class traveled to Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. While there, they spent time with the students and participated in Peace Circles that focused on Leadership. More than 60 vendors prepare chili dishes for annual Chili Cook-off

Thousands of locals are gearing up for the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce’s 36th annual Chili Cook-Off in Downtown Belleville on October 11 and 12, 2019 from 11:00am to 10:30pm both days. What began with just a few vendors on one block of East Main Street in downtown Belleville is now one of Belleville’s largest events celebrating the culinary creations from over 60 vendors, representing individuals, local organizations and area businesses. Thousands every year come to enjoy the great chili, entertainment and other festivities, but most don’t realize that the Chili Cook-off is the biggest fundraiser of the year for many non-profit or­ganizations that take part. Chamber Committee Collecting Winter Accessory Items for Locals in Need
