Belleville, IL., May 24, 2016 – Wendy J. Pfeil has been named the next Executive Director of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce, replacing John Lengerman, retiring May 31, 2016. Ms. Pfeil, who has a degree in Accounting, has worked at the Chamber for 8 years and currently serves as the Director of Membership Development. She has been a tireless advocate in developing and maintaining the strong membership base the Chamber now enjoys. She has collaborated with John Lengerman and the Chamber staff in building the capacity and influence of the Chamber, enhancing existing or introducing new events, and supporting mutually beneficial networks and relationships among business, government, education and not-for-profit organizations. On Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016, The Chamber’s Education Committee will host their annual Back to School Fun Fair at Belleville West High School from 5-7 p.m. Students from the Belleville elementary Chamber Member schools* and their families will be invited to attend. Families in attendance will receive valuable information from our business leaders while participating in activities that will allow them to leave with a backpack full of school supplies in preparation for the new school year. The event will celebrate the new school year with games, activities with involvement from high school students and more. The Education Committee hopes to provide up to 1,000 backpacks for our school age children, but sponsorships and vendors are essential to the success of this event.
