Get Outside!Belleville Dog Park

The Greater Belleville Area has countless opportunities to enjoy the outdoor, whether it be golfing at one of the local courses or taking a bike ride through the community on bike trails, there is something for everyone wanting to get outside.

Belleville has a great parks system, ran by Belleville Parks and Recreation, including 18 parks with a collective size of approximately 250 acres. Many of the parks have playgrounds, walking trails, sporting fields, and pavilions. Some additional specialty parks include a dog park and skateboard park. Some of the walking trails link up to bike trails throughout Belleville, connecting with other area bike trails. Parks & Rec. also host a few special events throughout the year including Daddy Daughter Dance, Tour de Belleville Bike Ride, Gingerbread 5K Run/Walk, Easter Egg Hunt, and Fishing Derby.

Festivals & Holidays

Throughout the year, you can find a variety of festivals filling the streets of Belleville. These festivals bring the community together. Some of the most popular festivals include the Belleville Chili Cook-off, Oktoberfest, Art on the Square, multiple Belleville Main Street events throughout the year, and more. During the holiday season, Belleville’s Main Street is decked with seasonal light post decorations and some garland on downtown bump outs. The downtown area comes alive with Santa on the Square, theĀ Christkindlmarkt, horse-drawn trolley rides, the Santa Parade, carolers, a gingerbread walk and more.

Downtown/Belleville Main Street

Visit the beautiful and unique downtown Belleville. Take a stroll down the welcoming sidewalks lining East and West Main Street. The newly added lights create a canopy over the road, creating a unique atmosphere. Downtown is full of unique shops and restaurants creating a one of a kind experience.

If you are looking for other activities, try finding hidden treasures while exploring the booths at the Flea Market every month at the Belle-Clair Fairgrounds and Exposition Center. The Center also has craft fairs, train shows and other special events throughout the year.
