Young Professionals Leadership Committee Takes Part in Annual Belleville Gingerbread Competition

Pictured: Landon Brooks (Tavern on Main), Lyndsey Younger (City of Belleville), Jessica Orelt (Albert Orelt Allstate Agency), & Diana Goebel (Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce) This past year, the Young Professionals group that is part of the Greater Belleville Chamber started a Leadership Committee to help plan upcoming events and activities for the group. This year, the committee decided to take part in the annual gingerbread competition that takes place in downtown Belleville. Sponsored by the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce, the young professionals took part in the Small Business Charity contest. This category can win $500 for a non-profit of their choice. Their creation consisted mainly of varied nuts and ingredients typically found in nut mixes. Healthcare/CSA Committee Selling Raffle Tickets for Student Scholarships

The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce’s Healthcare & Community Service Agency Committee is selling raffle tickets now through August 2nd to raise money for local high school student college scholarships. The prize consists of various gift cards totaling a value over $500. Gift cards include but are not limited to Buffalo Wild Wings, The Beast, Red Lobster, The Abbey, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Grimm & Gorly, Cracker Barrel, Panera, Outback Steakhouse & more. Tickets are one for $5 or five for $20. The drawing will take place on August 2 at Business After Hours. Need not be present to win. To purchase your ticket, you can stop in at the Chamber or call 618-233-2015.

Healthcare & CSA Committee Host 2017 Glove Drive

The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce Healthcare & CSA Committee is hosting a glove drive from November 1st to December 1st, 2017. Drop-off locations include: East Belleville YMCA, Family Hospice, Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce, Westfield Manor, and Union United Methodist Church. The items collected will benefit the following organizations: Holy Angels, Union United Methodist Church, and The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois. Please consider donating gloves or any other winter clothing items to support those in need this winter.
