The Ambassadors are honored to present this quarter’s award to Grey Eagle Distributors. In December 2012, Grey Eagle Distributors acquired Illinois Distributing Co., an organization with deep roots in the Belleville area. Since the acquisition, the ultimate goal for Grey Eagle has been to continue building upon the legacy of Illinois Distributing who was a great partner to retailers and heavily involved in the community. Grey Eagle is the exclusive distributor of Anheuser-Busch products and other premium beverages in St. Clair County and several other counties in Illinois and Missouri. Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois Receives Committment to Community Award

The Commitment to Community Award is presented quarterly to a Chamber Member who demonstrates a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and/or businesses in the greater Belleville area. The Ambassadors are honored to present this quarter’s award to the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois. The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois has been providing services to victims of domestic violence and providing prevention and education to the community for over 36 years. When the Center was founded in 1979, it consisted of one five-room shelter in Belleville with one part-time staffer. Today it employs 32 people and has physical presences in Monroe, Randolph, and St. Clair Counties. The Center provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence including shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, prevention education, art therapy and a 24/7 hotline. They…

Blanquart Jewelers Receives Commitment to Community Award

The Ambassador Club’s Commitment to Community Award is presented quarterly to a Chamber member who demonstrates commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and/or businesses in the greater Belleville area. The Ambassador Club is proud to present this quarter’s award to Blanquart Jewelers. The George Blanquart Jewelers was opened by George Blanquart in 1936. After his death, his wife Lauretta ran the store and eventually their sons, Robert and Charles Blanquart joined the business. George Blanquart’s dedication to his customers and quality merchandise is still honored today by his son, Chuck Blanquart. Since 1968, George Blanquart Jewelers has been located at 111 E. 32nd Annual Chili Cook-Off Winners, Sponsors, and Pictures

It takes 365 days to plan and prepare for the Chamber’s biggest and most anticipated event of the year. This year’s festival was definitely one for the history books with its full line-up of music, great tasting chili, idol competition and 5k run/walk. This year, the community helped raise $2,500 through the People’s Choice Award for Best Chili. All of which went toward the Community Interfaith Food Pantry (an increase of nearly $1,200 from just one year ago!). Congratulations to all of this year’s participants.
